The Foreign Languages Department offers skills courses that emphasize the listening, speaking, reading, and writing of the following languages: French, German, Japanese and Spanish. The curriculum includes the study of vocabulary, grammar and syntax, pronunciation, orthography, morphology and cultural perspectives.
The program combines classroom lectures, guided practice, and a variety of communicative activities in the target language, with individual work in the language laboratory, using a variety of multimedia materials. For information about the language laboratory, call (626) 914-8799.
