STUDENT TESTIMONIALS, 2011 GRADUATES
This program is really amazing. They taught me everything I needed to know about dental assisting, especially when I started my in-service training - the first day felt confident because I was taught almost everything to assist the dentist. This program helped me to find my way to the future and helped me be who I want to be. This program paved my path. Thank you very much.

I can tell how great this Dental Assisting Program is at Citrus College. I am an international student and I struggled understanding terms, lectures, and practical skills, which means teachers struggled helping me. The beginning of this program I thought teachers are too strict, but when I started internship I knew that I had been trained very well in school. When tsunami attacked Japan, I had family there and teachers supported me a lot. I am so proud of myself and this program.

Joining the Dental Assisting Program here at Citrus was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Not only do the instructors teach you how to become an awesome assistant, they also encourage and help you grow as a student and professional. This program has opened so many opportunities. I am so grateful for this experience!

I remember leaving orientation and feeling very overwhelmed, thinking it would be impossible to finish all of these classes, be at school 5-8 hours out of the day and work part time and spend time with my family. Fast forward ten months later, I'm about to graduate. Coming in to class with a positive mind set every day and never giving up helped me get through this program.

The RDA Program is so refreshing after taking general classes where no one really cares or knows about one another. Coming into this program is like a family. The teachers help every one of us. I believe they really want us all to succeed. This program has really taught me how to prioritize and manage my time. It was very stressful but very rewarding in the end.

When I started here at Citrus College I was kind of jumping around from major and classes, but when I started the Dental Assisting program I knew it was something I loved and really wanted to focus on. It is amazing how much I learned.  Due to that, I really feel valued and needed in this practice because I can contribute so much from what I learned. It has been a great experience and I recommend it to anyone.

Before I began the program, I was taking boring classes that didn't interest me. After meeting with Mrs. Pohl, I was very enlightened, and excited to begin! The classes were interesting and motivating. I learned so many new things about the Dental field, about commitment, hard work and dedication, but most of all, about MYSELF! I gained self-confidence and a new career.

When I started the program, I only had front desk dental office experience. I enrolled in the RDA Program so I can work in the back office. The program became very challenging for me because I had to repeat 3 classes and took a semester off because I had my son. Though it was hard, I never gave up and the nine month course became a two-year program. Now that I look back and see how far I have come and learned, I'm really proud of myself. I have so much more self-confidence.  I have decided to further my career in the dental field and get my bachelor degree in hygiene. When you feel like you want to quit, just think nine months to two years vs. the rest of your life.

When I first started school, I didn't know which career path I wanted to choose. I attended Citrus for my associates degree and it was then that I found they also offered the dental program. I didn't want to be far from home and also like the smaller school environment than a large university. For that reason, I decided to stay at Citrus. I was never happy with my smile and always wished I could make it better, so I would love to be able to do the same and help others. I am so glad that I chose this program at Citrus. I had such a great experience! I love the smaller, more personal style of the program where you are known for your name and not a number. The teachers and staff are so supportive and helpful and really helped to make my education a positive experience!

This program is an awesome way to gain knowledge about dental. It's so much more than what you expect. It's hands-on and has the opportunity for internship, which was really helpful in finding a job. I like the dedication it requires; it made me grow up and handle responsibility more. Great program to meet good teachers and people that will help you succeed in the program and on your RDA boards. Overall the best choice going to Citrus.

After completing this program I realize that I had achieved something that I will have for the rest of my life. I knew I wanted to be in the health profession and after looking into the few different schools, I knew Citrus College was the right one for me. Many dentists speak highly of the school, and because of this, I knew it would be a great program. I enjoy working in the field and look forward to a bright future in Dental Assisting.

I am proud to say, at age 45, going back to school at Citrus was challenging and one of my best accomplishments in life. I feel good about learning and bettering myself. This program helped me learn about the dental field, self-worth, and helped fully to prepare for the CDA and RDA exams. It provided superior training with many opportunities. The teachers really care for the success of their students!
