Mission Viejo, CA (Track and Field) -- Citrus College freshman Maya Avant’s 2010 season came to a close this weekend at the Southern California Finals hosted by Saddleback College. Avant finished in 8th place in the triple jump, just two spots away from qualifying for the State Championships.
Avant jumped a distance of 34 feet 6 inches. Avant’s jump in the SoCal Finals was two feet and five inches short of her personal best which she jumped for in the WSC Finals a couple of weeks back. Avant was Citrus' lone representative at the Finals this weekend.
