Andrew Gallegos Q & A

Andrew Gallegos Q & A - Men's Water Polo

1.  How long have you been playing water polo? I’ve been playing for five years. Four years at Rowland High School, and then this year here at Citrus.

2. Why did you start playing water polo? My friends got me into it, and I’ve been playing ever since.

3. Why did you choose Citrus College? [Head Coach] Stephen Smith recruited me and told me to come to Citrus. He said that they have a great program, and here I am.

4. How have you changed as an athlete? Student? I find myself to be more hard working and dedicated. Playing a team sport like water polo, with an emphasis on the team and not the individual has helped me better myself overall.

5. What are some of your best memories so far playing for Citrus? All of our victories. Our team work that we had to display in order to get those wins is what sticks out to me. We  have shared some great times so far.

6. Who are some of the people besides Coach Smith that have affected your life in a positive way here at Citrus? Jordan Rivas. He’s always so positive and happy. He makes everyone feel better.

7. What are you majoring in? Business. I want to go into accounting after I graduate.

8. What is your favorite thing about going to Citrus? Playing water polo.

9. Who has been the biggest influence in your life so far? Probably one of my best friends Jonathan Lui. He’s been an inspiration to me. He’s always made me push myself and better myself. He always been there when I was practicing in high school, he swims his hardest and I swim mine. We put all our effort into it, and whenever I need help in school he always helped me no matter what it was.

10. If there was one thing that you could accomplish in the next year what would it be and why? To make it to finals for swimming, or just make it as far as I can go.
