Alicia Longyear

Athletic Counselor Alicia Longyear is in her fifth year as the athletic counselor for Citrus College. “This is my dream job,” Longyear says. “I want nothing more than to see my student-athletes enjoy college and be successful in reaching their goals.”

Longyear graduated from Claremont High School in 1996, and then went on to the University of Redlands where she acquired her BA in Psychology in 2000. From there Longyear went on to get her Masters degree in Higher Education Counseling in 2003.

Longyear is an avid runner and even participates in competitive events. “I started running when I was 16, and I haven’t stopped yet,” Longyear said. Longyear is also a fan of camping and hiking at Joshua Tree National Park, and recently started a book club to give her a chance to be exposed to new authors. Longyear typically enjoys anything outdoors. “I’m addicted to the sun and only travel to tropical locations where the sun is abundant,” Longyear said.

Longyear resides in Rancho Cucamonga with her husband Dave Longyear, who is a math teach at Townsend Junior High in Chino Hills and Assistant Women’s Volleyball Coach at Pomona-Pitzer College. Together they have a son Cooper and daughter Tatum.
